She will introduce you to everything you need to know to start and keep a micro-flock of your very own in the city! We will cover: coop set up, how to select your breeds, brooder set up and raising chicks from peepers to layers, feeding and caring for chickens and how to be a chicken whisperer. Class will be held in Holly’s backyard so you can see a coop set up and a real live thriving flock. For those who are interested the class will conclude with a walking tour of 2-3 more chicken coops in the surrounding neighborhood. During Chefs in Our Field farm to table dinners, guests will have the opportunity to meet local food producers and enjoy an educational farm walk around Newaukum Valley Farm, a certified organic vegetable farm. An intimate five-course meal prepared by renowned chefs will highlight the bounty of Washington State. Fellow producers and artisans will join the discussion at the table to explain how their product are grown and crafted. 

The season three featured chefs are Chef Nathan Crave, Chef Brian Walczyk and Chef Desmond Bonow, all head chefs of Tom Douglas Restaurants in Seattle. Also cooking are; Chef Mathew Woolen from Seattle's The Old Sage and Mackinaw's restaurant owner, Chef Laurel Khan of Chehalis. Farmers and Producers from Black Sheep Creamery, Domina Dairy, Jacob's Creamery, Whitewood Cider Company, 3 Magnets Brewing, Bateaux Cellars and Provisions Mushroom Farm will also be among those featured this season.
