Description:

Whether you are building a food forest or a casual gardener, we grow the perfect plants for you! Our plant selection ranges from common to exotic, native to global, and we specialize in selling more mature plants that are already doing what they do - no waiting for fruit! Blueberry, raspberry, currant, gooseberry, elderberry, goji, quince, grape, aronia, serviceberry, lingonberry, kiwi, almond, and paw paw are just a few examples along with dozens of varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs. We can help you turn a yard into a beautiful, sustainable, tasty, and nurturing space with edible, ornamental, and medicinal shrubs, trees and perennials. As general contractors specializing in outdoor living spaces, along with offering plants, we construct patios, walls, gardens, fences, arbors, outdoor lighting, and irrigation. Find us at the Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma most Saturdays or by appointment at the farm. At our core, we are plant loving, dirt worshiping, tree hugging artists and general contractors who have been growing and selling plants for 16 years and love creating gorgeous, functional outdoor living spaces for other humans to enjoy. Scott Gruber is the principal weirdo and owner of Calendula Farm. He holds a BFA in sculpture, and applies that training to everything he does. He serves on the Board of Supervisors of the Pierce Conservation District and the Board of the Proctor Farmers Market. Alina Mikolajczyk is the sensible one here. She keeps us on the straight and narrow and can simultaneously move two tons of rock, expand the hearts of everyone she knows, and raise two teenagers.
