Description:

Cut flowers for weddings (full, a la carte, DIY), farmers markets (Nov-Dec only), wholesale. Naturally dyed yarn. Evergreen and dried flower wreaths.

Foothills Flowers is a small cut flower farm nestled in the Cascade foothills. We grow seasonal flowers, foliage, and filler for weddings, markets and wholesale distribution to Bellingham, Whatcom County, Seattle, Anacortes, and San Juan Islands, including area florists, designers, restaurants and grocery stores.

We grow and arrange flowers for weddings, celebrating seasonal flowers. We have several options for weddings including full service arrangements, a la carte, and DIY bulk buckets. Please contact us for more details. Our crops span a breadth of color and texture, focusing on flowers that thrive in our Northwest climate. Our production includes cut flowers such as sweet peas, sunflowers, zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, heirloom chrysanthemums, and greenery.

We design wreaths and all of our material is either grown by us or foraged by us on the property we live on which includes forest, pasture, garden and orchard. Our dried flower wreaths are made with flowers we grow and dry over the summer and fall. Flowers include: statice, marigolds, sweet annie, asters, strawflower, amaranth, millet, sunflowers and more. The materials we forage for our evergreen wreaths include Red Osier Dogwood, Western Red Cedar, Sitka Spruce, Grand Fir, Western Hemlock, Oregon Grape, Evergreen Huckleberry, and Giant Sequoia.

In addition to cut flowers, we grow plants and flowers for natural dyes. Natural dyeing is a beautiful process that celebrates colors produced by plantsgrown in our gardens. We grow indigo, coreopsis, dahlias, rudbeckia, and marigolds for natural dye. Those flowers produce beautiful variations of yellows, golds, and oranges, luminous shades of blue, and soft, silvery sage. Our naturally dyed yarn is 100% wool, sourced from American ranchers. To view more naturally dyed yarn, please visit our online shop.

Like our flowers, our work varies with the season. From early spring flower sales with ranunculus and narcissus, we move to abundant summer weddings, and finish our year with evergreen and dried flower wreaths. Seasonally, we attend the Anacortes Farmers Market with fresh cut flowers, seeds, naturally dyed yarn, and wreaths. In November and December we attend Seattle's University District and Capitol Hill Farmers Markets with evergreen wreaths. Find us on Instagram or Facebook!

Farming practices: We believe strongly in healthy soil, biologically diverse fields, and seasonal product. We utilize compost and cover crop to build healthy soil, and grow a variety of flowers and vegetables each season to encourage diversity. The bees and butterflies love our flowers - we do not use chemicals in hopes of creating a safe space for the environment and for our human customers. In 2017 we hope to have Organic certification.
