Hogstead is a family farm providing fresh, heritage pork and seasonal chicken and turkey to King and Snohomish counties. Seasonal produce is also available to restaurants, individuals by request, from our farm stand, or at the farmer's market. All produce and pastures are certified organic. Our pork is delicious and healthy as we use breeds that produce the darkest, richest meat with deep marbling. The fat from the grazed pigs and birds is also nutritious with a healthy omega fat profile. Unlike anything store bought, this meat is ultra-local, sustainably-raised, and always fresh. Support the local farm economy by trying our pork, fowl, or veggies and enjoy amazing-tasting table fare. Contact us to reserve a whole hog, half hog, quarter hog share, or pick up individual cuts. BBQ/roasting pigs available of any size. Hog roasting/smoking equipment available. Pricing on whole hogs and shares is $3.75/lb hanging weight. Extra slaughter fees and butcher fees applied by the butcher (approx $1/lb). Restaurants can contact the farm for pork purchasing as well. Thanksgiving turkeys available (reserve early please). Summer and fall chickens available by reservation. Hog slaughter and butcher class available to learn how to take your meat from farm to freezer to economically feed your family. Contact the farm directly for more information or to reserve your meat or veggies. Limited farm internships or short-duration farm work/learning experiences are available.   

Farm practices: WSDA Certified Organic vegetable fields and grazing pastures. Heritage breedstock kept on-farm, raising their piglets in large farrow pens. Older piglets are raised with their litter mates until harvest time. All hogs and fowl are allowed to graze on forage crops most of the year. Certified organic and non-GMO feeds provided to all stock. No GMO's grown or fed. No antibiotics or hormones used on butcher pigs or fowl. Humane practices used for all animals. Sustainability practices emphasized, including on-farm composting and limited off-farm inputs.
