The mission of Rokalu Farms is to create a healthy community by feeding and connecting our neighbors. We are converting a retired dairy farm to organic vegetable production. We have 14 tillable acres of south-facing, deep sandy loam soil that begs to produce food. The farm has been in the Ross-Gilby family since 1952. Bob and Donna retired to the farm in 2015 and began farming. We are looking for some younger folks as committed to soil, body and community health and well-being as we are.
Farming practices: Organic methods, no-till, drip irrigation, pest management through row covers, crop rotation, companion planting, and pollinator support. We build soil tilth through cover cropping and composting discarded organic materials that we gather from our community. Our seeds are organic and/or open-pollinated wherever available. No GMO are used.
CSA details: Over 70 varieties of vegetables, fruit and herbs. May-October. Pick up at the farm.
