- Farmers Markets
CSA produce (lettuce, carrots, kale, broccoli, tomatoes), goat meat, pastured, soy-free WSDA certified eggs, meat birds, community engagement.
2017 marks the 6th season of production at SkyRoot Farm! We are excited to continue to build on projects we started last year, including raising pastured poultry and training new farmers by hiring interns through the Washington State Farm Internship Pilot Project. The first crops in the beautiful huge hoop house we built last year are carrots and cilantro, with salad greens and then tomatoes on the not-too-distant horizon.
CSA details: Full Season (May 24-November 22) Early Bird = $675 (every other week $340); Summer Season (May 24-August 30) Early Bird = $380 (every other week $200); Fall Season (September 6-November 22) = $300 (every other week $160). We deliver to: Seattle - Columbia City, University District, Wedgewood and Whidbey Island - Clinton, Freeland.
Farm practices: Our farm practices are based on an ecosystem approach to land management and agriculture. Although veggies are our main product we are working hard to integrate animals into the farm: our goats help us push back the walls of blackberry to reclaim old fences, our ducks help control the slug population, and our poultry is part of our soil-building and weed control rotation. We strive to build our soil so that it can support healthy crops and a successful business.
