2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 small burdock roots, peeled and cut into matchsticks
1 carrot, cut into matchsticks
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
1 green onion, sliced, for garnish
- Place a pan on medium heat and add oil. Place burdock and carrots in pan and sauté until they start to get soft, about five minutes.
- Add sugar and mix to coat vegetables evenly.
- Add soy sauce and stir until evenly mixed. Let cook for another five minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion if desired.
Makes 8 ounces.
