Sourdough Apple French Toast Bake

Ingredients

Butter or coconut oil for pan
2 cups sourdough bread, cubed
1 apple, sliced
3 eggs, whisked
1 cup milk
1/2 cup yogurt
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

Preheat oven 450°F and grease cast iron pan with butter or coconut oil. 

1. Saute bread in pan. Add apples and continue sauteing.

2. Whisk together eggs, milk, yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour over bread and let sit for 10 minutes. 

3. Cook in oven for 20 minutes. Remove and put under the broiler on high for 2 minutes. Cool and serve.
